Veronica J. Judson

Welcome!

My name is Veronica Judson (she/her/hers). I am a Ph.D. candidate in American Politics at the University of Wisconsin–Madison and am an affiliate of the Elections Research Center.

I am currently serving as a Visiting Assistant Professor of Political Science at Western Carolina University, where I teach sections of Intro to American Government and Politics.

My research centers on American politics, with particular interests in elections, gerrymandering, political parties, redistricting, and voting behavior. Before coming to UW–Madison, I earned my B.A. (with Distinction) in Mathematics from the University of North Carolina at Asheville in 2021.

Outside of academia, I enjoy distance running, biking, hiking, and swimming—especially in the scenic Blue Ridge Mountains. At home, I can often be found with a cup of tea and the company of my two cats, Mozzie and Agatha.
